In the Qur’an, Allah reveals what the reward for charitable giving is like:
“A grain of corn which grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains” [Qur’an, 2:261]

It is normal practise to give sadaqah jariyah on behalf of someone you loved after their death or when they are ill in order to bless their record of good deeds in the eternity without compromising your own good deeds.
