UMR works in Sudan as a partner for healthcare, seasonal food distributions, and improving community livelihood. As part of a 5 year plan, UMR was gifted 1,000 acres of land in the Nuhr El Niel State in Northern Sudan through public-private partnerships. This land will be used to marry community development and economic growth through sheep farming activities. UMR has set up an endowment on this land to construct water wells, a health clinic, veterinary facilities, and feeding stations. This project seeks to increase earnings for local sheep farmers and improve the economic prospects of the area. The project will lead to a capacity of 15,000-25,000 sheep sold each year in local and regional markets.
