Yemen Emergency Appeal

Since March 2015 approximately 44,000 people have been killed or injured and more than 3 million have been displaced because of conflict with an average of 75 people killed or injured every day. The UN estimates that 18.8 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance out of a total population of 27.4 million. Over half of these are lacking access to safe water and hygiene. As a result of the escalation in conflict in the last two years and the blockade of sea, air and land by the coalition, an estimated 7 million people in areas of southern Yemen are affected by sewage overflow, raising the risk of disease.”
