About Us

UMR is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in the United States. We are one of the fastest growing NGO’s in the country, with a focus on building humanitarian coalitions to tackle developmental needs.

At UMR we believe everyone has a right to live free of poverty in a secure and more equitable world where they are able to fully realize their potential.

It is the inspiration we derive from our Islamic ethos that drives us to be open-minded and pluralistic. We believe that all people, regardless of race or religion, should have access to clean water, to healthcare, to earn a sustainable livelihood and to have access to basic social services.

Climate change—along with shortages in natural resources, famines, humanitarian crises, energy limitations, and the proliferation of conflict—has not only made life more difficult for the average global citizen, but made it further unbearable for the world’s poor. It is now more than ever that collaboration in the field of international development is needed. To achieve this end, we collaborate with diverse partners to tackle some of these mounting challenges.

Collaboration is a two-way street. We strongly believe that giving back to our volunteers and to the numerous communities that support us makes us a stronger organization. And through investing in our student-led chapters nationwide, we can not only produce a generation of philanthropic activists but tomorrow’s future humanitarian leaders.

All donations to UMR are tax deductible. Our Tax ID #: 27-3175543

Our Values

To be a world leader in uniting partner organizations’ relief and development services to assist underserved communities in achieving the dignity of self-sustenance.

UMR integrates our global partners’ services to provide comprehensive relief and development aid to underserved communities around the world. UMR accomplishes this humanitarian mission by blending advocacy, youth mobilization, disaster response, aid delivery, and empowerment through education.

As an international Islamic charitable organization, we believe that everyone across the world is entitled to clean water, health and dental care, and to have access to basic social services no matter their race or religion.

We try to attain our purpose through delivering sustainable programs, educating the public, running campaigns, advocating for change and delivering humanitarian aid in disasters and conflicts.
