In partnership with IMANA and SEMA, UMR ran a five day Cataract Mission at As-Shami Center for Eyes in Jordan. This global initiative came as a restorative gift of sight for curable blind cases and provided excellent eye and medical care services to needy patients who were not able to cover such surgery costs in Jordan.
With success from God, the mission completed 105 surgeries, allowing patients to see better or for the first time. Dr. Baseer was the primary doctor along with assistance from at least seven authorized medical personnel from the As-Shami center. Most of the needy patients were Syrian refugees but included Jordanians, Palestinians, and Iraqis.
