Job Description
United Mission for Relief and Development (UMR) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. We are one of the fastest growing NGOs in the country, with a focus on relief and developmental needs globally and domestically.

UMR is looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Specialist who is going to be responsible for supporting and driving the strategic development and implementation of multiple core marketing elements of UMR’s major campaigns and signature projects such as video and digital content, added value content, media partnerships, etc. (S)he will work closely with the Director of Finance and Administration and will manage and “own” multiple, simultaneous projects in multiple areas, while ensuring a smooth workflow within a cross-functional team including members of all internal departments as well as agency and vendor partners. This position is an ideal opportunity for a marketing professional with at least five to seven years’ experience to help manage, as well as building, the marketing department.

Essential duties:

  • Manages strategic proactive media outreach by identifying UMR brand awareness opportunities; takes initiative to act upon these opportunities to achieve results.
  • Creates relationships with influencers and third-party marketing to promote UMR and its programs and projects.
  • Support UMR’s global regional and in-country offices in their marketing and communications needs.
  • Oversees organization’s email marketing campaigns for all departments and programs.
  • Oversees digital and social media strategy, including the evolving digital market and contributes new ideas to enhance the organization’s social presence. Analyzes, synthesizes and course corrects based on data and metrics provided.
  • Leads the transition from current donation management platform (DonorPerfect) to Salesforce.
  • Identifies trends and leverages opportunities within the industry, through the use of social and digital tools and channels.
  • Leads assignments to support the strategic vision of UMR; develops recommendations of marketing activities to increase revenue.
  • Manages projects and campaigns including coordinating with vendors and managing the marketing and communication’s team junior staff and independent contractor members.
  • Leads and provides strategic direction on new projects. Manages and prioritizes current and future staff time to fulfill cyclical/seasonal, such as Ramadan and Winterization, as well as new projects as needed.
  • Manages vendor and consultant relationships including metrics and reporting.
  • Oversees the creation of marketing materials including managing graphic design projects to completion and acts as brand liaison to the organization to ensure consistent brand voice, vision, and aesthetic are achieved.
  • Manage online donation forms

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in communications and marketing required
  • Experience in Non-profit/NGO marketing is a must
  • Experience managing media relations and email marketing campaigns required
  • Understanding of website content management systems required, WordPress experience a plus
  • Experience managing social media communities for brands required
  • Print and online advertising experience preferred
  • Experience managing staff and vendor relationships
  • Experience executing email and social media outreach to targeted audience segments required

Languages:
Verbal and written English is required, and Arabic is preferred.

Job Description

We are looking for a competent Volunteer Management Coordinator to recruit and manage UMR’s volunteers, including university and community volunteers. The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission.

It takes a competent leader to succeed in this post. You should know how to distinguish talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire. You must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience.

Responsibilities
· Source, recruit, and build a robust volunteer database through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.) to gain community support of the volunteer program and the organization
· Works with social, civic and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers
· Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions, including international missions
· Build and maintain a roster of emergency response volunteers with required skills to support staff on domestic deployments
· Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments including their availabilities and skills
· Develops and implements training programs for all volunteers
· Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are meeting goals, satisfied and well-placed
· Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
· Grow and engage university chapter volunteers for fundraising purposes
· Develop and implement goals and objectives for the volunteer program which reflect the mission of the organization
· Administer and monitor expenditures for the volunteer program against the approved budget
· Ensure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated

Requirements
· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
· Proven experience planning events and fundraisers
· Experience in volunteering locally and/or internationally
· Experience in recruiting through various channels
· Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
· Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
· Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
· A pleasant, outgoing personality
· BS/BA required
