Fundraising Focus: Yemen & Sudan Floods Emergency Response
We are launching an urgent fundraising appeal to support families impacted by the catastrophic floods in Yemen and Sudan.
Yemen
Southern Yemen has been hit by severe flash floods, affecting more than 100,000 people. Torrential rains have destroyed homes—including camps for already displaced families—and submerged farmland. Critical infrastructure such as roads, power lines, and water systems has also been heavily damaged, cutting off entire communities from essential services and forcing thousands into secondary displacement.
The compounding effects of ongoing conflict, economic collapse, and climate disasters have left families—especially children, the elderly, and displaced populations—facing rising hunger, heightened risks of waterborne diseases, and even dangers from explosive remnants of war unearthed by the floods.
Sudan
In Sudan, floods have affected hundreds of thousands of people at a time when the country is already struggling with the devastating impact of civil war. Families are left without homes, basic necessities, or protection.
