WASH Program: Addressing Water Needs in Pakistan

UMR's WASH program extends to Pakistan, where it has been addressing critical water needs in some of the country’s most drought-affected and marginalized regions. In Sindh Province’s Dadu and Badin districts, and Balochistan Province’s Nushki and Kech districts, UMR has established 65 shallow wells to provide sustainable access to clean water for vulnerable communities. In addition to well installations, UMR distributed water filtration kits and created new water access points to ensure families in rural and semi-urban areas have reliable and safe drinking water. These efforts have directly benefited over 8,000 individuals, significantly improving daily access to clean water and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases. UMR remains dedicated to creating lasting, impactful solutions for communities facing water insecurity, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable future.

Combating Hunger in Pakistan: Ramadan Food Baskets and Qurbani Meat Distribution

In Pakistan, UMR addresses hunger and malnutrition through seasonal relief programs that provide vital support to vulnerable families. During Ramadan, UMR distributes food baskets containing essential staples like rice, lentils, cooking oil, and dates, ensuring families have access to nutritious meals throughout the holy month. Similarly, during Qurbani, UMR delivers fresh meat to families who otherwise have limited access to protein-rich foods, enabling them to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

These seasonal programs are not long-term solutions to hunger and malnutrition, but they serve as critical interventions that provide immediate relief to families struggling with food insecurity. Beyond addressing physical hunger, these initiatives bring hope, joy, and a sense of normalcy to families during significant cultural and religious occasions. Through these efforts, UMR remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities in Pakistan, offering both nourishment and the opportunity to celebrate cherished traditions with dignity and pride.
